  Patented Drapery Hardware For Doors

Background

Having started our decorating business in 1989 in the affluent community of Greenwich, Connecticut, we quickly discovered that, whatever the income, most of our clients were very excited to save money wherever possible!

One of the tricks we used for window treatments was the "Faux Valance". Rather than spending excessive amounts of money on custom made valances, we would simply take two standard curtain rods and cover them with a sleeve of shirred fabric, made to any specification that was desired by our clients, and mount them on the window in the standard fashion.

The result was a finished window treatment that came down over the trim of the window, covering any hardware from blinds, verticals, etc. It was and still is a very successful and cost effective method...

Description

On a routine job, we had to decorate a room with an ingressing atrium door. After completing the window treatments in our usual fashion, we were left with a dilemma . How could we treat the atrium door and still keep the design consistent throughout the room? We eventually came up with a cost effective, durable fixture that worked, allowing the door to remain functional.

"bRACK-IT-Up!" allows consistent interior window treatments to be installed on patio, french, and atrium doors and and still enables the door(s) to ingress fully 90 degrees. The bracket provides a means to attach a continuous fabric treatment, or valance, which spans both the travel door and fixed panel, unifying them both within the same casing. "bRACK-IT-Up!" enables covering of the top and side door trim, as in most window treatments.

The unifying component is a standard telescopic rod, flat or tubular*. The existing holes fit over a pivotal device on "bRACK-IT-Up!".

When the door is open, the rod contracts and when the door is closed, the rod expands to its original length.

From simple shirred fabric valances to ornate draperies, as long as the treatment is soft,  with "bRACK-IT-Up!", the possibilities are endless!
